Tags: Matauk, Weeds and herbs Description: An annual plant that can grow 5–40 cm tall, with white flowers. It grows on cultivated and uncultivated ground. The stems lie down and put out roots, so the plant often forms dense mats. Use: Common chickweed can be used raw in salad, or as a green in soups and stews. It is best used in spring before it flowers; then pick the whole plant and chop or tear it up a little before adding it to the food.
