Within friluftsliv there are several interesting topics that can also be worked on in other subjects. Some tasks can be combined with a trip and activity outdoors, while other topics may be natural to work on in parallel across different subjects. Below we mention both examples of questions/topics that can be worked on across several subjects, examples of cross-curricular tasks, and more subject-specific tasks.

Subject-specific tasks
Practical and theoretical tasks linked to competence aims in physical education, activity studies, and friluftsliv.
Maths
Avalanches – calculate safe travel
Maps and working drawings
Average, difference, and percentage with Skogsgym
Orienteering and maths with Skogsgym
Calculate distance, speed, and time (calculate distance, speed, time)
Training studies
- Look at how the body makes use of energy. Describe the difference in energy needs between friluftsliv and, for example, football.
- Create a training programme for a person who has never walked with a rucksack and who is going on a week-long tent trip. What is important to keep in mind?
Sport and society
- Sport and friluftsliv, the sustainability paradox
- Can friluftsliv and sport be carried out in a sustainable way?
Natural science

A diet programme that works well across subjects together with natural science, training studies, and friluftsliv

Training management
- Carry out an outdoor event for the class.
- It is also possible to carry out an event for the year group
- Examples of events:
- Ski day with ski games
- Outdoor day with a focus on cooking outdoors
- Trip day with various trips and difficulty levels
- Nature trail
- Plan a trip, and be trip leader for the class.
