A lot of snow in a short time means a greater load on the snowpack, and this can worsen the avalanche danger. We often say that 30 cm of fresh snow over a 24-hour period without wind is enough fresh snow to increase the avalanche danger. Check how much precipitation is forecast in the days before the trip, and check whether this holds true when you are in the area along the way.
