Cross-curricular topics: Health and life skills In training leadership, the cross-curricular topic of health and life skills is about pupils gaining the competence to lead training groups and giving them knowledge of sport, public health and life skills. It is meant to help pupils develop a positive self-image and a secure identity, and to learn to make safe choices about how to act. In this way they are to become able to handle the various challenges they meet, in the best possible way for themselves and for others.

Democracy and citizenship In training leadership, the cross-curricular topic of democracy and citizenship is about developing the ability to think critically about democratic and inclusive leadership of activity and training. The subject is to give pupils an understanding of the social responsibility that lies in the role of leader and instructor for individuals and groups. Through their work with the subject, pupils are to gain insight into how they can handle challenges and clashes of opinion within learning communities, and they are to take part in reflection on interaction, equal worth and respect, regardless of background. VG2: - account for and apply the basic principles of instruction and leadership

  • use appropriate activities, exercises and teaching methods in practice
  • plan, lead and assess activities for groups and individuals with different backgrounds
  • assess their own and others’ practice as a trainer and leader
  • show variation in the choice of activities, exercises and methods when planning and - carrying out activity and training plan, carry out and evaluate an event connected with training leadership
