Suggestions for day or single-lesson plans in physical education and activity studies
Here are suggestions for different friluftsliv activities and which competence aims the activity can cover. It is perfectly possible to combine several of the activities.

Here are suggestions for different friluftsliv activities and which competence aims the activity can cover. It is perfectly possible to combine several of the activities.
Pupils in friluftsliv 1 and 2 are welcome to take part in planning and carrying out these activities.
Light a campfire
- The pupils can prepare in advance, they can be given instruction or use discovery learning.
- Decide what the aim of the activity is: to manage to light the campfire, cooperation within the group to build a campfire, gaining experience with campfire burning, or a competition to be the first to manage it?
Cooking on a campfire
- The pupils can prepare food at home.
- We can run a cook-off in which the pupils are handed ingredients and equipment to cook food.
- The pupils are to find food in nature that they can prepare (they should also bring their own food in addition).

Treasure hunt with map and compass
-
Orienteering in a different way.
-
The pupils are to use a map and/or compass to find posts.
-
Examples of content at the posts:
- activities (make up a dance, find two different leaves, make a figure out of things you find in nature.
- Questions about friluftsliv, with or without options: what you should have in your rucksack, the open-fire ban (bÄlforbud), which tree burns best and so on.
- Jigsaw pieces or similar at the posts, so that they have to find them all to understand the whole picture.
- Food at each post; when they reach the finish they are to prepare the food.
- Points collecting, where difficult posts further away give more points, the aim being to gather the most points within a set time.
-
The pupils should be given an orienteering map or a hiking map (turkart) with a scale from 1:10 000 to 1:20 000 (this makes the orienteering easier).
-

A trip in the local area
- The pupils plan a trip in their chosen local area themselves.
- Simple trip planning and drawing the route onto a map in groups.
- Carrying out the trip.
- We can vary the level of difficulty depending on the terrain and the paths available in the area.
- Reflection afterwards.
A trip in the local area and a treasure hunt/natursti can also be combined into a plan spanning several days.
Here is a suggestion for a plan that runs over two to three days:

Canoe day (half-day or full day)
- An introduction to paddling technique,
- companion rescue,
- reading the map on the water,
- first aid related to water.
First aid day
- Cases the pupils have to solve:
- drowning,
- a cut wound,
- a rolled ankle,
- hypothermia.
- which method? Discovery learning, the ape method or instruction - here the subject training leadership may also be relevant.
