Risk
Description: When we plan teaching under the school's auspices, it is the school's responsibility to document health, safety and environment (HSE) systems that refer to a risk assessment.
Description: When we plan teaching under the school’s auspices, it is the school’s responsibility to document health, safety and environment (HSE) systems that refer to a risk assessment. Horgen and Christoffersen (2019) point to the importance of the precautionary principle and remind us of the duties a veileder (a guide-mentor) in friluftsliv holds. The duty of care — which requires an attentive veileder. The duty of competence — which requires that whoever takes responsibility on a trip has the necessary knowledge and qualifications, and the duty to inform — which requires that the participants have been given sufficient information. The duty to inform is a good reason to have compulsory participation in trip planning for pupils at school. The trip plans that are reviewed should be stored as documentation, so that the head teacher and possibly others can verify that HSE for the teaching has been taken care of.
Examples: - Produce a written risk assessment
- Ferdaråd before the trip
- Inform participants
- The precautionary principle
