Marble

Marble is metamorphosed limestone formed under high pressure and heat. This usually destroys any fossils or sedimentary structure normally found in limestone.

Marble is metamorphosed limestone formed under high pressure and heat. This usually destroys any fossils or sedimentary structure normally found in limestone. The colour is white but can be tinted by combinations with iron. The name comes from the Greek marmaros, meaning shining stone.
